The following Players' Guide will be updated with effect from 7 August 2023:

  • The minimum age for using skateboard ground and skatepark is changed from 8 to 5 . Adult supervision is recommended for children players below the age of 12.
  • All players in skatepark must wear a head-protected safety helmet with safety stripes as appropriate while full face helmet is required for freestyle BMX rider when riding in skatepark. Helmets should fit snuggly.

The walking trail and a part of the inclusive park for pets at the park located east of Fan Kam Road will be temporarily closed on 17 May 2024 to hold Inter-Secondary Schools Golf Competition 2024, during which other park facilities, namely 5-a-side hard surface soccer pitches and fee-paying public car park, will remain open as usual for public use. The children’s playground, elderly fitness station and part of the open space in Carpenter Road Park will be temporarily closed starting from 26 February 2024 to facilitate the reprovisioning of Kowloon City Municipal Services Building and the adjoining community facilities by the Urban Renewal Authority. During the project period, other facilities in the park (including cycling track, 7-a-side soccer pitch, basketball courts and volleyball courts, etc.) will remain open.

The opening sessions and admission arrangement of Children’s Play Room at Ping Shan Tin Shui Wai Sports Centre will be changed with effect from 1 December 2023 (Friday) with details as below:

  1. Duration of each session to be changed from 30 minutes to 45 minutes;
  2. Number of sessions per day to be changed from 16 to 12; and
  3. Admission arrangement to be changed from "queuing up" to "distributing admission tickets" prior to the use. The admission tickets will be distributed 30 minutes before the commencement of each session. Admission is on a "first-come-first-served" basis, subject to the availability of places at the material time.

This Department will implement the new booking arrangements for the golf facilities and items at Tuen Mun Golf Centre from 6 November 2023, details of which are as follows:

Bookings for golf driving bays and golf balls (a number of 30 per booking) can be made. Bookings for golf driving bays and golf balls (a number of 30 per booking) are to be cancelled.
On-the-spot bookings for golf driving bays for a session of half an hour can be made. On-the-spot bookings for golf driving bays for a session of half an hour are to be cancelled.
For bookings for facilities at non-peak hours, duration of individual usage is capped at 4 hours per day. An individual will be allowed to make bookings for use of facilities for a daily maximum of 2 hours at peak hours and 2 hours at non-peak hours.
Bookings for golf driving bays and unlimited supply of golf balls (but excluding golf clubs) in the form of packages can be made. Upon booking packages, users may opt to hire golf clubs. The existing arrangements will remain unchanged.

If in doubt, please contact the staff of Tuen Mun Recreation and Sports Centre on 2466 2600 during office hours for advice.

To facilitate the Tuen Mun South Extension Project, some government areas in the district such as part of the Tuen Mun Park, part of the Pui To Road (South) Rest Garden, Tuen Mun River (Eastern Bank) Garden, part of the Tuen Mun Swimming Pool, part of the Wu Shan Recreation Playground (including Tuen Mun Road Safety Town), Wu King Road Garden and part of the Tuen Mun Promenade will be handed over to the MTR Corporation on 11 October 2023 as works areas. Please refer to the pink area in the attachment for details. Currently, the above mentioned areas will remain open and are expected to be occupied as temporary work areas in phases starting from the period during November and December 2023 for relevant advance works.
